If there are disputes between the parents about child custody (legal decision-making) and visitation (parenting time), prior to placing the matter on a litigation track, the court generally directs the parents to Conciliation Services to meet with trained mediators to aid the parties in trying to reach agreements, or with a parenting conference officer who will then make recommendations to the court. Although attorneys are not permitted to attend either mediation or parenting conferences, the legal decision-making (child custody) attorneys at our firm will be by your side throughout the process, providing you with legal counsel and guidance to make sure you are prepared and to ensure that your interests are protected.
